HSBC's international network comprises over 10,000 offices in 83 countries and territories in Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa. Why did we choose HSBC? Apart from being one of te world's largest banks, we've banked with them for a very long time and they provide an excellent service. We only want the best for our customers and HSBC certainly fits into this. What is HSBC's Secure ePayments? It's a product provided by HSBC that allows us to accept credit cards. This is a secure online service. What this means is your order information, which includes your name, shipping address and billing address, is encrypted (so no one can read it) and sent to HSBC. You then provide your credit card information (which is also encrypted) to complete your order. These are the steps that will you go through when you buy something from our website and pay using a credit card: 1. You access our website, place an order for goods by adding them into your shopping basket and proceed to the checkout. 2. You order is then encrypted (so no one can read it). You are then passed to HSBC's Secure ePayments website to complete your credit card payment. 3. You then provide your card details (these are also encrypted), which are security checked and verified with your card issuer. Additional card security is provided by both Verified by Visa and MasterCard® SecureCode™ for all registered cards. 4. Once the order and payment is completed, you will be transferred back to our website where you will receive your order number.
How does this benefit you, the customer? When you are on a website and it comes time to provide your credit card information, knowing that one of the world's largest banks is going to be handling your credit card information is very comforting! HSBC won the Credit Card Awards 2007 for Best Security/Anti-Fraud Development. |
